Well... I guess I am going to try and keep up with this blog. I wish we had exciting lives or had more things to talk about but we are just still trying to figure out how to be married, still have friends, make some sort of money to live and finish school. This past month was eventful and then very relaxing.
The first of December was a MONUMENTAL occasion... Ben's Birthday. His birthday was on a weekday this year and was toward the end of our semester which equals stress, homework and exams. THEREFORE, we went to Red Robin with his family and my parents. Ben enjoyed it and we just had a mellow, relaxing evening. Ben decided to treat himself this year and bought himself a new desktop computer. He was in great need for one. He was using my OLD Hp laptop which that battery is completely out of the lap top and extremely slow. He now has two monitors and LOVES organizing his computer and making excel sheets for everything (Christmas lists, grocery lists, budgets, which car parts to fix...)After dinner, the parents came over for dessert and Ben opened a few gifts from me... a head scratcher and a back rubber thingy. Very romantic and thoughtful :)
We finished up our last weeks of school. I turned everything in and jumped up and down because I was so happy to be done. I went to my 2nd grade class (for my Student Teaching) for their Christmas party. It reminded me of what it was like to be in school and anticipate the day of the party. Every student was on their best behavior, working quickly and efficiently so that they could enjoy their long awaited Christmas party.
December 17, we left to make a quick trip up to Sacramento to visit our friends Tara and Luke. I lived with Tara for 2 years and they got married June of last year ( as well as the rest of the graduating class of Vanguard). They moved to Folsom in August and have moved into a house. It was so fun to spend a long time in the car with each other and to visit our friends that we miss so much.
We had so much fun with them and love their CUTE home:) I have just been hanging, cleaning and organizing while Ben has been working. I guess someone has too :)
We spent Christmas Eve morning at our place and opened presents from each other that morning.
Ben got me amazing boots and he LOVED his water bottle thingy and shoes. This is out lovely little tree. The middle strand of lights went out only a week before Christmas and since it is a pre-lit tree I said forget it! Christmas Eve evening, we went to my parents house and went to church and had a nice dinner. We opened gifts and just hung out! I got a Kitchen-Aid mixer... LOVE IT! Christmas morning we went to Ben's parents and opened presents early in the morning in out pjs. We opened tons of gifts and then got ready for Christmas dinner with his family. It was a relaxing day being with family and friends.
This Christmas was a different Christmas, but it was amazing to be with so much amazing family. We are truly blessed.
We did spend the week after Christmas at my parents house because Ben's car was not working and needed to get worked on and I did not want to be stranded while Ben was working I just hung out at my parents house. It was nice to relax, see friends and go shopping. Ben even loved it too because he was able to get to work in 20 minutes instead of 75 minutes... in traffic.
The month of December was eventful, relaxing and a great time for me to be re-energized for the next semester. This marriage thing is a great adventure in which I am always learning and always discovering!
